Leadership team
John Turner
I have over 25 years experience advising and developing strategies to
manage corporate responsibility, health and safety and environmental
management. I was formally Group Head of Corporate Responsibility for
British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. (BNFL), accountable for advising the
Executive and Board on business ethics and corporate responsibility
best practice and for monitoring and reporting group performance
through a period of significant change.
My experience covers:
- Advising FTSE100 companies, professional bodies and trade associations on
corporate responsibility and sustainability issues
- Improving company reporting of non financial performance, including developing
BNFL's first Corporate Responsibility Report which won the prestigious ACCA
Sustainability Reporting Award for Best First Time Social Report in 2003
- Developing and improving non financial system including establishing group
safety systems for working on high hazard sites and establishing the health,
safety and environmental management systems for a newly formed, stand alone subsidiary company
- Commercial Experience - 5 years in management accountancy and business development.
This mix of experience has given him a good oversight of the wide range of organizational
issues that can impact on trust.
Mike King
I am an environmental scientist with 20 years experience working in the area of
stakeholder engagement, public participation and corporate social responsibility.
I am an experienced facilitator and trainer and has been involved with a range of
projects and initiatives working on issues such as renewable energy production,
nuclear power, biodiversity and waste management. I have also worked extensively
with business helping to develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement strategies
and projects.
I was formally Chief Executive of The Environment Council, a UK based NGO, that
pioneer of the use of Stakeholder Dialogue to resolve contentious environmental issues.
The organisation now works with industry, government and local communities to develop
and promote innovative ways of achieving sustainable development through effective
dialogue and engagement. Previous to this appointment I held senior roles in a number
of NGO's giving me considerable experience of this key stakeholder group.
Gwyn Jones
I have over 25 years' experience in Senior Management positions in major consulting
companies across Europe, Middle East and the Far East which involved creating and
running international consultancy organisations for companies such as EMC, Logica,
Perot Systems and Digital Equipment. I have also provided strategic advice and business
development leadership to product manufacturers in the courier, express and parcels markets.
I am also a Director at the Association of Sustainability Practitioners creating a
series of Learning Events promoting various sustainability practices, and am responsible
for operations and communications.
